Yeah but keys are stackable items and they are area specific. If you're still carrying Shiverpeak keys in the desert well that's kind of dumb on your part. No offense intended but if it only takes one inventory slot why not just buy 4 or 5 for each area use what you use and resell the rest to pay for keys in the next area? Personal inventory management would be more effective than a new mechanic for key storage.

Well honestly? No not those keys the only keys I keep in constant supply are Obsidian and Phantom. Other than that the rest are sellable and expendable. So you will have a max of 2 inventory slots taken up with keys that stack if you just manage your inventory effectively. Shiverpeak and Miner keys you shouldn't need anymore than three at a time if that. Depending on your build you might want to stock up on phantom keys because if you run a 2 man 55 HP and SS/SV combo then you get more chests. Not so much on Obsidian because you have to run large groups through there. I'd say maybe 5 max at any given time with any extra going to storage between farming runs. Other than that there is no point in keeping mass amounts of keys from any of the other areas, certainly not enough of them that you actually have to consider suggesting a game mechanic just to store keys en masse.

Changing keys becomes a big hassle, especially for us farmers. Quite often I find that my storage is full as well as my character inventories. I'm also a runner. Does that mean that I should stop in every town and swap out keys? Too much hassle. A keyring is a great idea and would be an easy thing to code into the game.
BTW, I usually keep upwards of 30 shiverpeaks keys. I've used more than that before on a single run.

See I don't get that hassel part. I farm as well and I run the same areas that you run I guarantee you that. Just as you have to set your skills to prepare for the areas you are about to enter you should also prepare your inventory as well. It's just part of your preparation. While yes it would be easy to code you also have to remember that all code must be tested and retested before being released and anything you put in on one end you have to take out on the other because of disk size constraints. I'm not saying that the small amount of code required to create a key ring mechanic would overload the disk but you have to think about the priorities of the programmers when you think about these suggestions. Sure they could probably include every single suggestion on this board. It would likely take three disks though and that would mean extra packaging cost, extra freight cost, extra development and testing cost. In the end it's all about bottom line and you have no idea how many man hours have to be paid out for a relatively minor alteration to code, especially something as involved as a game. There are so many function calls that all have to be cross linked and referenced correctly that even a minor change this late in the game is a huge undertaking. I mean they are already announcing a beta test date which means the code is at least 85% complete if not more. I'm allowing the final 15% to be recoding for bug fixes and glitches and the like.
All in all the key ring mechanic is a nice idea just not a practical one. I don't want to come off like I'm knocking you guys or anything but I think effective inventory managment would better fit the bill than additional game code.

I need to stack more keys than phantom/obsidian, hereĀ“s the reason: when i farm droknar trolls they drop keys, chests aroud that area use to suck (or maybe i have bad luck), so i stack them and from time to time me and 2 or 3 guild member go for some mineral spring runs, when i use to get good drops.
For that reason i think any bag/keyring would be a great adition to game.

Well like I said I think it is a nice idea just not a very practical one. In the end I think the real debate is more on farming and play styles than the usefulness of the mechanic. I'm very selective about what I pick up and keep in inventory. If it's less than 15K I just leave it there. In this way I manage to keep a lot of inventory room open for good drops and for keys and the like.

The real problem is we don't have enough storage, at the most you'll be carrying like 3 different types of keys, unless you're wierd and farm noob areas. Why make a key bag or ring for the little amount of keys that are going to be in your inventory?
Seriously...ANet has 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 more important things to do for the game than something like this.

True, im not saying i really need some stuff to carry keys, but i really need some way to have more space, i have many stuff that i need to have with me all the time, 3 axes, 3 shields, some keys, some ID/salvage stuff. Extra helm, bow, etc...
So if not a key holder maybe some other stuff limited to armor or weps, but something would be good.

I'd rather them add more storage space than add another holster/bag for keys. :LL

well, they are saying their doing somehtng about guild storeage and holiday item store (which most of us need, BADLY to store all those wintersday and mad kind items we stll have hehe)
in chap2...
personally, i think a keyring/bag that has slots for all keys is a good idea, whether its a non bag keyring pic on the invenrty at the end of the bags..and you poke it with the mouse and it opens up showing num of each key=0-whatever, or a bag that just has enough slots for one slot of each key (only keys).
also would like them to make another rune of opening that would make each of the two bags up to 20-25 slots each, im sure we would be willing t pay up to 1k each for those runes, right peeeps?
what about a special bag, with 25 slots that is just for materials?

It's a neat idea, but really ANet have to address storage in general, not just a specific aspect of it. Improved storage (and really, who cares about "hoarding" - we have so many players that it shouldn't really matter) may well solve the issue, by simply having more room. As it is I had to put all my candycane weapons on a secondary account, as my halloween and christmas hats, spare armours and such fill my toons up pretty well.

I agree with that I don't have enough room anywhere I've started characters just for there extra starage compartments.

Wow a full 10 slots... I would not go that far... I think 5 is plenty 3 is more liek reality... I mean who is gonna carry around ascalon and steel keys later in the game? I can see 3 casue of ToA region. Obsidian and Phantom, and Krytan keys... OR 3 because of SF area... Miners and ShiverPeak, and well actually 2 for that area. lol But typically you will not have much more then 3 different types of keys in a region.
However if they want to code for a 5er slot like the belt for a key ring I will definatly not complain...
Again 3 with factions.. Canthan Kurzik and Luxon... I'm sure there will be a Afflicted or Outcast as well... But again... 3 is plenty I think...
BTW dont you think the assassin should be able to pick locks? lol just a thought...
